Kaskaskia College will purchase new workforce training equipment and computers through grant funding following action by the college’s Board of Trustees.
The board approved the purchase of a Simlog Forklift Personal Simulator for $31,650. The simulator will be used for instruction in HVAC, carpentry, industrial technology, and welding programs at the Crisp Technology Center. It can also be used in the college’s Mobile Manufacturing Lab.
KC will also purchase 26 laptops for $27,915.62. The purchase consists of 20 business laptops and six rugged laptops for use in HVAC open-lab areas.
Both purchases will be fully funded through the Workforce Empowerment Initiative grant.
