Police Commissioners Meeting Twice This Week

The Greenville Board of Police Commissioners are meeting on back-to-back nights this week to work on the development of two eligibility lists.

Commissioners will gather at the municipal building on Tuesday, September 1at 6:30 p.m. to interview those interested in being on the sergeant’s list, and Wednesday, September 2 to interview candidates for the police eligibility list.

Board Chairman Allan Davis told WGEL the city currently has no openings for police officer or sergeant.  An officer was hired last month and no more names are left on the list, so a new one needs to be created.  It will be good for two years.

Davis advised the sergeant’s list has expired, and the new one will be in effect for three years.
