The Greenville Tourism Committee met recently and had one item to consider.
It was a request to provide $750 in tourism funds to promote the upcoming Airstravaganza/Open House at Greenville Airport.
The motion to approve the request, which is budgeted for that amount, was unanimously approved. The recommendation goes to the Greenville City Council for final approval.
The event will be Saturday, September 12.
Greenville Tourism Director Jes Adam talked about upcoming events in Greenville.
The monthly Farmer’s Market will be held on Saturday, September 5 in downtown Greenville.
The final Third Thursday on the Plaza will take place Thursday, September 17, and will feature an eight-piece salsa band. The event is from 6 to 9 p.m. with food and drinks for sale.
Apple Day is Saturday, October 3, also in downtown Greenville. New this year will be a Little Miss and Mr. Contest. The apple pie dessert contest returns, there will be live music, and the final Farmer’s Market of the season will be set up. It was reported 63 vendors have already signed up for Apple Day.
