The Bond County Community Unit 2 Board of Education began a program in 2023 in which two high school students are appointed as non-voting members of the board.
One is a senior and the other a junior.
At last week’s meeting of the school board, a new junior representative was seated. She is Madeline Beckert, the daughter of Heather and William Beckert.
Austin Swalley remains the other student representative for his senior year.
Madeline is a member of the band and clubs, she plays volleyball and soccer, and is taking flight training at Greenville Airport.
