Aloys J. Lengermann

Aloys J. Lengermann, age 85 of Highland, IL, died Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Highland, IL.

He was born on Friday, August 03, 1928, in Merino, Colorado, the son of Julius J. and Mary C. (nee Brueggemann) Lengermann.

On Saturday, August 24, 1957, he married Catherine L. Lengermann (nee Holthaus) who passed away on Monday, May 17, 2010.

He was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL; VFW Post 5694, Highland, IL; Helvetia Sharphshooters Society, Highland, IL; St. Vincent DePaul Society; former member of the Highland Sportsmen’s Club, Highland, IL; Machinists Union District 9.

Born at Merino, Colorado; at age 6 months moved to Bartelso, IL; moved to a farm east of Highland in the late 1940’s. He served with the US Army from 1953 to 1955 with duty in Germany. He graduated from Bailey Technical School after the service. He worked/owned Quality Motors Co., Highland, IL. Then worked for Bellm Freight Lines for a number of years; later for Commercial Transport (later became White Tank & Truck Repair), Belleville, IL, he retired January 1991. He enjoyed pitching horseshoes, bowling, woodworking, visiting “the boat”, was a Cardinal Baseball fan and volunteering at the VFW Hall.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Illinois.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, and from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM, on Friday, June 20, 2014, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 20, 2014, at Saint Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL, with Father Scott A. Snider, Parochial Vicar, St. Paul Catholic Church, officiating.

Interment will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Highland, IL.
