Mary A. Ford, age 67, of Keyesport, passed away Thursday, June 5 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 9 at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle. The family will greet friends at the funeral home Monday from 4:00 p.m. to service time. Memorials are suggested to the Neutropenia Support Association.
Mrs. Ford was born on October 17, 1946, in East St. Louis, Illinois, a daughter of William and Vera (Bollinger) Knight. She married Robert E. Ford, Sr. in Centerville on August 25, 1962, and he survives in Keyesport.
In addition to her husband Robert, Mrs. Ford is also survived by her children – George Ford and wife Chris of Marine, Robert Ford, Jr. and wife Elaina of Maryville, Jeffrey Ford of Collinsville, Bill Ford and wife Chris of Maryville and Kansas Battles and husband Darren of Carlyle; 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; 2 brothers – Clifford Knight and wife Mary of Collinsville and William Knight and wife Nancy of Collinsville; and 2 sisters – Kathy Rushing and husband Robert of Sparta and Jean Zinkan of Collinsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents – William and Vera Knight and 4 brothers – William Lee Knight, Roy Edward Knight, Jimmy David Knight and Michael Wayne Knight.
Mrs. Ford was a home maker and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the Columbus Baptist Church in Mulberry Grove and loved gardening, bingo, fishing, camping and spending time with her family.
