Joseph Earl Campbell

Joseph Earl Campbell, age 81 of Highland, IL, died Friday, July 18, 2014, at Highland Health Care Center in Highland, IL.

He was born February 08, 1933, in Perry, MO, the son of Spencer R. and Vishie Siotha (nee Moore) Campbell.

On May 01, 1965, he married Frances Ann Jamison who survives in Highland, IL.

He was of the Baptist Faith, and a 32 Degree Mason and a Shriner.

Joe was born in Perry, MO and graduated Perry High School in 1951. He studied Religion for 2 years at Hannibal LaGrange College. He then joined the US Army, serving as Chaplain for 2 years, during the Korean War. After the war he worked for the Hannibal Police Dept., and later worked in Retail Sales, spending most of his working career, retired as Regional Manager for Dollar General in 1998. He had served 2 terms on the Hannibal City Council. Joes’ interest in politics led him to campaign diligently for Richard Nixon. Joe enjoyed fishing, gardening, yard work and spending every minuet he could with his family.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Illinois.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, with Rev. Jason Vinson, Chaplain for Heartland Hospice, officiating.

Interment will be at a later date at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
