Sharon A. Godell, age 64, of Keyesport, passed away Sunday, August 24 at St. Louis University Hospital. Funeral services for 64 year old Sharon A. Godell will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 29 at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle. Burial will follow at McKendree Chapel Cemetery in Keyesport. Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Mrs. Godell was born on May 7, 1950, in Highland, Illinois, a daughter of Grace (Weiss) and Orville Kircher, Sr. She married Lloyd E. Godell on May 2, 1970, in Greenville, Illinois and he preceded her in death on September 24, 2003.
Sharon is survived by her children – Amy L. Wilkerson of Keyesport; Beth A. Rawley and husband Nathan of Highland; and Tony Godell and wife Linda of Troy; 9 grandchildren – Daniel Luis; Michael Luis and fiancé Tiffany Reaka; Canada and Easton Rawley; Tyler and Katelyn Godell; and Jacob, Allison and Nicholas Wilkerson; and 3 siblings – Orville Kircher, Jr. and wife Diane of Arizona, Lonis Kircher of Highland and Gary Kircher and wife Annie of Millersburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents – Grace and Orville Kircher, Sr. and her husband – Lloyd E. Godell.
Mrs. Godell worked at Carlyle Healthcare Center and Community Link and was a member of the Boot Scooters. After her retirement, she spent her time with her family and friends.
