Alexis M. D’Amico, age 16, of Grantfork, formerly of St. Jacob and Trenton, passed away Monday, September 1 in St. Louis University Hospital. Funeral services for 16 year old Alexis M. D’Amico will be Thursday, September 4 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pentecostals of Troy. Burial will be held at a later date in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Newport, North Carolina. Friends may call Wednesday, September 3 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton and again Thursday, September 4 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Pentecostals of Troy. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Brain Injury Association of America or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Ms. D’Amico was born May 15, 1998 in Belleville, IL to Vicky (Smith) and Dante D’Amico, Jr.; her mother survives in Nashville, NC and her father survives in Grantfork, IL.
In addition to her parents, she is also survived by brothers, Eric (Jerica) D’Amico of Raleigh, NC, Joshua Stroder of St. Louis, MO, and Jonathan Stroder of Colorado Springs, CO; maternal grandfather, Robert Smith, Sr. of Newport, NC; a nephew, Raylan D’Amico; and aunts and uncles, Crystal Brown of Nashville, NC, Jerry Smith of Garner, NC, Ricky Smith of Newport, ND, and Carl D’Amico of California.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Mary Beulah (Rhue) Smith; paternal grandparents, Louise (Careri) and Dante D’Amico, Sr.; and an uncle, Robert Smith, Jr.
Alexis currently was a junior at Highland High School in Highland, IL and was a member of The Pentecostals of Troy, Troy, IL.
