Carol Kellermann, age 75, of Carlyle, passed away Tuesday, September 16 at St. Louis University Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial for 75 year old Carol Kellermann will be celebrated Friday, September 19 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Carlyle. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Mrs. Kellermann was born on April 18, 1939, in Breese, Illinois, a daughter of Francis A. and Edna E. (Hodapp) Korte. She was happily married to Robert C. Kellermann for 42 years. He preceded her in death on December 25, 2000.

Carol enjoyed traveling to see her daughters, Janice Kahre and husband Tim in Connecticut and Carla Siddell and husband Jim in Wisconsin. She spent many hours in O’Fallon, IL with her son Dale Kellermann and wife Denise. Her grandchildren were the light of her life – Traci Kahre and husband Tom Poore, Tanner Kahre, Kenneth Siddell, Alyssa Best and husband Bowen, Carl Siddell and wife Brooke, Dean Siddell, Neal Siddell, Nathan Kellermann, and Noah Kellermann. Playing at Villa Catherine with her great grandchildren brought her much joy – Colby and Chelsea Best, and Levi Siddell. Her favorite and only sister, Marlene Hoffman along with husband, Kenny, spent countless good times at Cardinal baseball games, concerts, shopping and traveling.

Welcoming her into heaven are her savior Jesus Christ, her parents, husband and first born son, Dean.

Mrs. Kellermann enjoyed an active life as a member of St. Mary’s Church, where she served as a cantor, choir member, and member of St. Ann Sodality. She worked at Wil-Mary Shop in Carlyle, served as Carlyle Township Supervisor, and was secretary of Clinton County Water District. She enjoyed sports, especially Cardinals baseball, and playing pinochle with friends. She was an avid quilter, and loved being a grandma and great grandma.
