Orin McCracken

Orin McCracken, age 77, of Sorento, passed away Sunday, September 21 in his home. Funeral services for 77 year-old Orin McCracken will be Saturday, September 27, at 11:00 a.m., in the Reno Southern Baptist Church. Burial will be in Reno Bethel Cemetery. Friends may call Friday, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the church. The Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is in charge of arrangements.

He was born on Oct. 17, 1936 in Van Dyke, MI, a son of Orin Daniel & Mamie Hugh (Spies) McCracken. Mr. McCracken was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Orin graduated from Greenville High School and obtained his Associate’s Degree in Business from SIU-E. Over the years he owned and operated the Sears Catalog Store in Greenville, worked as a Human Resource Trainer at both Granite City Steel and Basler Electric in Highland and was a Shift Supervisor at Quality Partitions in Litchfield. He was a member of Reno Southern Baptist Church, Sorento Masonic Lodge #861, Ainad Shrine in East St. Louis and Greenville AmVets. He enjoyed playing softball, bowling, dancing & traveling. He married Karen Louise Pope on Mar. 14, 1959 in Sorento. She survives. He is also survived by:

He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister, Delores Sharp.

The family suggests memorials to Reno Southern Baptist Church or Shriners Hospitals For Children.
