Joseph L. Gross, age 52, of north of Greenville, passed away Friday, October 3 at his home. No services will be held for 52 year old Joseph L. Gross. Memorials are suggested to the family.
Joseph Lee Gross, the son of Leonard Dell Gross and Diane Marilyn Corser Gross, was born on June 10, 1962 in Jackson, Michigan. He grew up there and attended the public schools. Early in life Joseph worked construction and later went in Iron Working for many years. In the 1980’s Joseph was in a serious car accident and sustained closed head injuries which have become worse as he aged. Joseph was able to go on disability as a result in 1998.
Joseph and Darla Gail Wilcox Burke were united in marriage on January 3, 2003, and she survives as does Joseph’s son Joey Gross of Parma, Michigan. He is also survived by his mother Diane M. Gross of Spring Arbor, MI, sisters Kathy (Dean) Donaldson of Jackson, MI, Renee Gross of Jackson, MI, four step children Shawn (Angelica) Burke of Belleville, MI, Shane Burke of Traverse City, MI, Jennifer (Matthew Gibbings) Burke of Ypsilanti, MI, Hallie Halterman of Ypsilanti, MI, and eight grandchildren: Bailey McFarlane, Shawn Burke Jr., Christian Burke, Elijiah Burke, Quinten Burke, Matthew Gibbings Jr, Brenden Gibbings, and Priscilla Halterman.
Joseph is preceded in death by his father Leonard Dell Gross and one brother in infancy.
Joseph was a former member of the Iron Workers Union and affiliated with the First United Pentecostal Church of Nokimis, IL.
