Rose M. Kleinhoffer, age 86, of Highland, passed away Tuesday, October 21. Funeral services for 86 year old Rose M. Kleinhoffer will be Saturday, October 25 at noon at the Meridith Funeral Home in Highland. Burial will be held at a later date. Friends may call Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and from 8:00 a.m. to service time Saturday. Memorials are suggested to the Highland Area Christian Service Ministry Food Pantry.
She was born September 9, 1928, in St. Louis, MO, to Joseph and Augustine (Nee Palmisano) Bonanno.
In life, her greatest joy was bestowing unconditional love, nurturing and guidance upon her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was happiest when attending or participating in her children’s, grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s activities.
She enjoyed family gatherings, swimming & sunbathing, shopping, restaurants, reading, following politics, film & television entertainment and watching sporting events with her family – basketball, football and baseball – especially the St. Louis Cardinals.
She proudly served as a Madison County (IL) Election Judge. For nearly 20 years she was a member of the IUE local #840.
She is survived by her sons, Michael A. Kleinhoffer (Diane Gerst) and Dr. John W. Kleinhoffer (Darla Page) of Highland; daughters, Kathleen M. (significant other Keven Gamble) Peeler, St. Louis, MO, Debra A. (Rodney) Zobrist, Highland, Patricia A. (Joel) Harris, Abilene, TX and Tamara A. Kleinhoffer, Highland; grandchildren, Justin & Jacquelyn Rose Kleinhoffer; Tara (Chad) Zobrist, John W. Jr. & Marissa Kleinhoffer; Meredith Rose (Thomas) Canterberry, Chad (fiancé Jessica Arcynski) Fergesen, Jason Fergesen and Cory Peeler; Tyson (Wendi Shimer) Zobrist, Shandra (Matthew McPherson) Zobrist; Joel A.
