James W. Reupke, age 89 of Carlyle, died on Friday, November 21, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, November 24, 2014, at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle with Rev. Keith Michaels, officiating. Interment will follow at Carlyle Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Zieren Day Funeral Home on Sunday, November 23, 2014, from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. and on Monday morning from 8:00 – 10:00 A.M.
Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mr. Reupke are suggested to the American Heart Association and will be received at Zieren Day Funeral Home.
Mr. Reupke was born on June 28, 1925, in Carlyle, Illinois, a son of Henry and Daney (Church) Reupke. He married Margaret Ruppe on December 20, 1958, and she survives in Carlyle.
Jim is also survived by a daughter – Susan Reupke of Carlyle; 2 sisters-in-law – Eva Durbin and husband Bob of Vandalia, Illinois and Evelyn Adcock of Taylorville; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents – Henry and Daney Reupke; and his siblings – Agnes Cooley, Frances Stover, Slinda Goldsmith, Minta Wills, and Fred Reupke.
Mr. Reupke worked at Luebbers Welding for many years and enjoyed gardening. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
