Marianna Rutz, age 90, of Highland, passed away Monday, December 1, at Faith Countryside Homes in Highland. Funeral services for 90 year-old Marianna Rutz will be Thursday, December 4, at 1:00 p.m., in the Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland. Burial will be in Highland City Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Highland Animal Shelter.
She was born May 18, 1924, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Folbert and Katherine “Katie” (nee Saal) Beck.
On August 07, 1950, she married Orville Jacob “Pete” Rutz who passed away on October 16, 2005.
She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ.
Marianna was born in Highland, IL. When she was younger she had lived in Long Island, NY and Germany. She moved back to Highland and married her husband. She was a beautician and owned and operated Marianna’s salon. She collected antiques and collectables. She loved her grandchildren, and great grandchildren, her pets, and loved animals. She always wanted to look nice and made sure her hair was done, nails polished and loved wearing her jewelry.
