Mildred I. Hutchinson, age 83, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday, December 3, at Greenville Regional Hospital. Funeral services for 83 year-old Mildred I. Hutchinson will be Monday, December 8, at 11:00 a.m., in the First Christian Church. Burial will be in Mulberry Grove Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church or the Lemuel Rhodes Cancer Foundation.
Mildred Irene, the daughter of Otto Joseph and Tura Velva Snow Grisham, was born August 26, 1931 north of Greenville. Mildred grew up in Bond County, attended the one-room school and Englis and graduated from Greenville High School. She was a telephone operator and later worked at Sterling Dime Store, the Abstract Office, Bakers Dime Store and DeMoulin Brothers Factory. She raised her 4 children and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Mildred and James Thomas Hutchinson were united in marriage on October 21, 1950 in Pocahontas, Arkansas. They had 54 years together before his passing on April 14, 2005.
She is survived by her son Thomas Hutchinson of Monmouth, IL, daughters: Cathy Ellis of Greenville, Karen Hutchinson Green of Greenville and Karla (Ed) Gan of Greenville. Mildred is the grandmother of 8 and great-grandmother of 5.
