Dallas L. Manning, 87 of Panama passed away at 4:25 PM on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Panama with Pastor Dave Trover officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Panama. Friends may call on Monday from 5:00-8:00 PM at Perfetti Funeral Home in Panama with Masonic Rites recited at 7:45 PM.

Dallas was born on April 24, 1927 at Panama the son of Lawrence and Charlotte (Nuby) Manning. He married Fern Ash on May 25, 1945 at Edwardsville; she preceded him in death on March 31, 2001. He was also preceded in death by his parents and 2 Brothers, Delmar Manning and Larry Manning.
Dallas was employed at A.O. Smith in Granite City as a pipe-fitter for 28 years. In 1981 he joined CIPS in Coffeen as a repairman, later becoming maintenance planner, retiring after 11 years of service. Dallas also farmed and acted as Chairman of the Board of Supervisors for Montgomery County. He was a member and past master of the Masonic Lodge in Donnellson and a member of the United Methodist Church in Panama. He was a graduate of Hillsboro High School and a World War II veteran serving with the US Navy, attaining the rank of Seaman First Class.
Survivors include: 2 Daughters, Connie of Marietta, GA and Rhonda of Los Angeles, CA; 3 Sons, Dennis of Sorrento, FL, Jerry of Pekin, IL and Terry of Hillsboro, IL; 8 Grandchildren; 18 Great Grandchildren.
