Henry A. Zucksworth, age 93, of Hookdale, passed away Monday, January 19 at Carlyle Healthcare. Funeral services for 93 year old Henry A. Zucksworth will be Friday, January 23 at 2:00 p.m. at Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Mulberry Grove. Burial will be in Noffsinger Cemetery with full military honors by American Legion Post #1180. Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville and from 1:00 p.m. to service time Friday at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Mulberry Grove. Henry Arthur Zucksworth, the son of Arthur Ray and Mabel (VanSickle) Zucksworth, was born January 30, 1921 in Glenarm, Illinois. He grew up in Glenarm and attended the local schools there and Greenville High School. Henry enlisted in the United States Army on July 20, 1942 serving in the Signal corps serving overseas in Italy during WWII. He was honorably discharged on May 25, 1945.
Henry and Elnoma Cleek were united in marriage on February 8, 1947 at the home of Rev. Brown, the Baptist minister. They have enjoyed over 67 years together.
Mr. Zucksworth worked for the Health Department in maintenance. He has spent most of his life farming, farming until he was 82 years old.
He is survived by his wife Elnoma, their children: Ann Zucksworth of rural Hookdale, Brenda (Benard) Eaton of Sharpsburg, GA, Mary Tomko of Daytona Beach, FL, Larry Zucksworth of Maryville, IL and Bill Sexton and his wife Bonnie of Greenville. Loving grandfather of 7 and great-grandfather of 5. His brother Wayne “Tony” Zucksworth also survives in Springfield, IL.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Lois Ann in infancy and a brother Alan Zucksworth.
