Robert L. Earnest

Robert L. Earnest, age 63, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday, December 31, at Greenville Regional Hospital. Funeral services for 63 year-old Robert L. Earnest will be Saturday, January 3, at 2:00 p.m., in the First Christian Church in Greenville. Friends may call Friday, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Memorials are suggested to the family.

Robert Louis Earnest, the son of Virgil Leon Earnest and Beverly Jean McCall Earnest, was born on June 30, 1951 in East St. Louis, Illinois. He was raised on the Earnest Farm in the Reno community where he attended the Reno Grade School, Sorento Elementary School, Greenville Elementary School and graduated from Greenville High School in 1970. He worked for Ron Johnson TV for several years in high school. He attended ITT Technical Institute in Indianapolis and worked in Radio and TV repair for several years. He then worked with his father in Earnest Excavating. Robert joined B-Line in Highland in August of 1977 and worked there as an electrician until his retirement on December 26, 2012.

Robert and Connie M. Adcock were united in marriage on September 13, 1970 at the Greenville First Baptist Church by her cousin, Rev. Robert Adcock, and they have enjoyed over 44 years together. Connie survives as do their three children; Amie (Joseph) Page of Taylor Springs, Eric (Amber) Earnest of Alton, Chad (Brooke) Earnest of Mulberry Grove, eight grandchildren; Quinn Page, Megan Page, Dustin Earnest, Brandon Earnest, Erin Earnest, Colton Earnest, Callye Earnest, Cameron Earnest, and three siblings; Michael Earnest, Virgil (Debbie) Earnest of Greenville, and Melody (Dennis) Elliott in Missouri.

Robert is a member of Labor Local 660 of East Alton, and the Greenville First Christian Church.
