Ruth A. Maschhoff, age 64, of Centralia, passed away Saturday, January 24, at her home. Funeral services for 64 year-old Ruth A. Maschhoff will be Wednesday, January 28, at 11:00 a.m., in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Hoyleton. Friends may call Tuesday, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church (Hoffman) Endowment Fund, Trinity Lutheran Church (Hoyleton), or to Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School. Zieren Funeral Home in Carlyle is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Maschhoff was born on March 29, 1950, in Centralia, a daughter of Reinhold and Lorna (Fruend) Twenhafel. She married Donald Maschhoff on July 5, 1969, in Hoyleton, and he survives in Hoyleton.
Ruth is also survived by her children – Sara Lombardo and husband Joe of St. Peter, Missouri and Dora Maschhoff and friend Dale Diekemper of Carlyle; a grandson – Nicholas Lombardo; a brother – Ralph Twenhafel and wife Wanda of Centralia; 2 brothers-in-law – Ron Maschhoff and wife Diane and Randy Maschhoff, all of Hoyleton; a niece – Tammy Oertel and husband Jason; 2 nephews – Josh Maschhoff and wife Jennifer, and Justin Maschhoff; and her great nieces and nephews – Tyson and Shelby Oertel, and Ila Maschhoff.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her in-laws – Shirley Twenhafel and Dale Maschhoff.
Ruth was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman, where she was also active with the L.W.M.L. She was also a member of the Clinton County Home Extension. Ruth was a home health care giver, and also helped on the family farm. She loved to make people laugh while she was clowning, and also enjoyed gardening and flowers.
