Nicholas Prasuhn, age 88, of Greenville, formerly of Carlyle, passed away Sunday, February 15. Funeral services for 88 year old Nicholas Prasuhn will be Thursday, February 19 at 11:00 a.m. at the Greenville First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Greenville. Friends may call Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to service time at the church. Zieren Funeral Home in Carlyle is in charge of arrangements.
Nick was born in Carlyle on March 4, 1926, the son of Nicholas (Sr.) and Regina (Sprehe) Prasuhn. He married Mildred McFarland on Oct. 25, 1953 at the First Presbyterian Church in Greenville, and she survives. He is also survived by a niece, Mary Hull, and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Melanie Young; sisters Margaret (Leonard) Warnecke and Mildred (Paul) Cizek; and a niece, Rita Cizek.
Nick served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956, and was a life member of American Legion Post 404, Carlyle, and the First Presbyterian Church in Greenville. He was a farmer, and retired as custodian at Carlyle High School.
