Patricia “Patty” I. Hawley Payne, age 61 of Highland, formerly of Greenville, passed away 10:45 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 18, at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Mark Myers and Pastor Tim Darmour-Paul officiating. Interment will follow in Montrose Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 4-8 p.m. at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. For those who desire, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Patricia Irene, the daughter of Eldon John Hawley and Edith Irene (Gunning) Hawley, was born June 19, 1953 in Highland, Illinois. She was raised in Greenville, attended the Inglis School and graduated with the class of 1972 from Greenville High School. Patty worked at DeMoulin Brothers as a seamstress for over 40 years, retiring January 2013. She has worked part time as a Cashier at Schnuck’s.
Patty and David L. Payne were united in marriage on June 14, 2003. He survives as do their children: Tracy (Tim) Gombos of Highland, IL, Kelli (Adam) Hanebrink of Highland, IL, Jennifer (James) Bullis of Farmington, MO and Julie (Robert) Lemond of Pevely, MO. Patty is also survived by her sister Anna (John) Piper of Greenville. She was the loving grandmother of 8; Haylie, Hunter, Madysen, Graysen, Ashley, Aidan, Paris and Genevieve.
Patty was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Ladies Garment Workers Union, UNITE and Grocery Workers Union.
