Debra Lee Kellermann, age 53, of Carlyle, passed away Thursday, March 19 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese. Funeral services for 53 year old Debra L. Kellermann will be Thursday, March 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church in Carlyle. Burial will be in Carlyle Township Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Zieren Funeral Home in Carlyle. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Debra was born on July 28, 1961, to Gilbert and Mary (Elliott) Hudson. Debra was married to Tommy Howard in 1981, and had 3 wonderful children – Samantha (Howard) Loredo and husband Jaime of St. Genevieve, Missouri, Thomas Howard of Carlyle, and Gilbert “Buddy” Howard, who is deceased. Debra also raised her 4 nieces and a nephew as her own children – Karen (Hart) Mills of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; Jeffery Hart of Cape Girardeau, Rhonda (Hart) Links of Collinsville, and Lisa Hart of Doe Run, Missouri.
Debra married Michael Kellermann on November 16, 1996. Mike and all of Debra’s children were her life. She loved to work, loved the Lord, and loved spending time and laughing with her children.
In addition to her children and her husband, Deb is also survived by a granddaughter and 2 grandsons; her mother – Mary Smit Berry and husband Wayne of Mt. Vernon; a sister – MaDonna Hart of Centralia and one brother – Ronald Hudson of Centralia.
She was preceded in death by her son – Gilbert “Buddy” Howard; her father – Gilbert Hudson; the father of her children – Tommy Howard; her brother-in-law – Kevin Kellermann and her mother and father in law – Eugene and Melba Kellermann.
Debra worked and retired as a Correctional Officer from the Clinton County Sherriff’s Department, where she was also a 9-1-1 Dispatcher and a cook.
