Loren Blunt, age 62, of south of Mulberry Grove, passed away Wednesday, March 4 at Willow Creek in Belleville. Funeral services for 62 year old Loren Blunt will be Monday, March 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will be in Noffsinger Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Bond County Visiting Nurses.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2015 at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville with Randy Whitehead officiating. Interment will follow in Noffsinger Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Donnell-Wiegand. For those who desire memorials in Loren’s memory may be made to The Bond County Visiting Nurses.
Loren Lee Blunt, the son of Richard Harry Blunt and Donna Louise Cole Blunt, was born on March 14, 1952 in Vandalia. Loren grew up in Pleasant Mound and attended the Smithboro Schools and graduated from Mulberry Grove High School in 1970. While in high school Loren worked at Hickie’s Cafe. Loren worked for the Mulberry Grove Locker Plant, for Midwest Commodities, for Chrisman Processing and for 20 years at Carlyle Syntec.
Loren and Nancy G. Lynch were united in marriage on December 18, 1970 at the First Baptist Church in Mulberry Grove and have enjoyed over 44 years together. Nancy survives as do their two son’s: Kendall R. (Dawn) Blunt of St. Louis, MO, Korey L. Blunt of rural Vandalia, four grandchildren: Anna Blunt, Izac Blunt, Lily Blunt, Adeline Blunt, and Loren’s brother Mervin E. Blunt of Greenville. Loren is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Becky Blunt age 7, and his granddaughter Olivia Blunt.
