Mary L. Arnold age 89, of Greenville, formerly of Mulberry Grove and Granite City, passed away 11:15 a.m. Friday, February 27, 2015 at Greenville Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday March 3, 2015 at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Bruce Sasse officiating. Interment will follow in Mulberry Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. For those who desire memorials may be made to Mary’s family.
Mary Louise Brimer, the daughter of William Benjamin Brimer and Susie Wilson Brimer, was born on November 30, 1925 in Granite City, IL. She grew up there and graduated from Granite City High School.
Mary and Harry Eugene Arnold were united in marriage on April 11, 1953 in Madison, Illinois and enjoyed over 55 years together before his death on November 4, 2008. Mary and Harry lived in Granite City for many years, moving to Mulberry Grove in 1972, to Tennessee for two years and and to Greenville in 2007.
Mary is survived by three of her four children: Sue Thompson of Greenville, Eddy (Wanda) Arnold of Sevierville, TN., Mary Thebeau of Greenville, grandchildren, Eddy Jr, Tina, Crystal, Amanda, Brandy, Richard, Shelly, and Regie, and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Lisa Rego, her husband Harry, and is the last of her generation being preceded in death by sisters Helen Parks, Mildred Serr, brothers Hollis Brimer, John Brimer, and Benny Brimer.
