Wilfred O. “Bud” Witt, age 87, of Trenton, passed away Thursday, March 19 at the Relais Bonne Eau [Relay Bo No] Hospice Home in Edwardsville. Funeral services for 87 year old Wilfred O. “Bud” Witt will be Sunday, March 22 at 12:00 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton. Burial will be in Trenton Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
Mr. Witt was born October 25, 1927 in Trenton to Oliver and Ida, nee Hoffman, Witt; they preceded him in death.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold Witt; sisters, Arline Wilburn and her husband John and Dolores “Maisie” Satterfield and her husband Charles; and a great-niece Kayla Satterfield.
Surviving is an aunt, Clara Ballard of New Baden; nephews and nieces, Larry Satterfield and wife Phyllis of New Baden, Jack Satterfield and friend Karen Isaak of Carlyle, Linda Roeber and husband Robert of New Baden, Jon Wilburn of Berea, KY, and Philip Wilburn and wife Deb of Trenton; his special friend, Jean Koch of Trenton; and great-nephews and great-nieces.
Bud retired from the State of Illinois Sign Maintenance Department and he enjoyed fishing.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Trenton VFW Post 7983.
