Anne Aten, age 69, of Greenville, wife of Max E. Aten, passed away Monday, April 13, in her home. Funeral services for 69 year-old Anne Aten will be Thursday, April 16, at 11:00 a.m., in the Smith Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in Aten Cemetery near Hidalgo. Friends may call Wednesday, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Smith Grove Baptist Church. The Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville is in charge of arrangements.
Betty Anne Jacobs, the daughter of Keith Wayne Jacobs and Diana “Dora” Wilbur Jacobs, was born on September 10, 1945 in New London, CT. Her family moved to Macon, IL then to Newton, IL where Anne grew up and attended the Newton Public schools and graduated from Newton High School in 1963.
Anne and Max Edward Aten were united in marriage on August 21, 1966 at the Hidalgo Christian Church and have enjoyed over 48 years together. They moved to Greenville in 1966 and have raised their three children here.
Anne is survived by her husband Max, 3 children: Stacy (Jason) Mesnard, Amanda Aten, Max “Mick” (Amy) Aten, grandchildren: Cole Campbell, Tessa Jane Aten, Ella Aten, Maggie Aten, sisters Sally (David) Fynan, Jill (Patrick) Coleman, and brother Wayne (Linda) Jacobs Jr.
Anne has been an active member of the Smith Grove Baptist Church for many years.
