Carolyn M. Tator

Carolyn M. Tator, age 87, of Highland, passed away Sunday, May 17, in St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri. Funeral services for 87 year-old Carolyn M. Tator will be Friday, May 22 at 11:00 a.m. at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery in Pana. Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to service time at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland.

She was born April 18, 1928, in Pana, IL, the daughter of Oscar H. and Marie A. (nee Siegert) Maisch.

On June 16, 1951, she married Donald W. Tator who passed away on October 17, 2000.

She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ. She was also a member of Highland Country Club; Highland Garden Club; Highland Women’s Club; Women’s Guild of the Church; Elmhurst College Alumni Association; St. Joseph Hospital Aux,; Highland Country Club Women’s Golf League; Special Olympics Committee in Highland.

Mrs. Tator was born in Pana, IL and graduated from Pana High School in 1946. After attending Elmhurst College, with a degree as a Medical Technologist, she worked at Allen Medical Labs in St. Louis, MO. She moved to Connecticut in 1978 and then made Highland their home in 1991. She and her husband enjoyed traveling; taking trips to New England, California, and Bermuda. She was an avid golfer and belonged to the Highland Country Club Golf League. She also delivered meals for Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed the company of others and helping those in need and was always very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
