Helen Luper, age 80, of Greenville, passed away Sunday, May 24 at Greenville Regional Hospital. A Celebration of Life for 80 year old Helen Luper will be Sunday, May 31 at 4:00 p.m. at the Greenville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Friends may call there from 3:00 p.m. to service time. Memorials are suggested to Helen’s family. The Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville is in charge of arrangements.
May Helen Edwards, the daughter of Joseph Edwards and Minnie Mary Childress Edwards, was born on February 2, 1935 in Portageville, MO. At the age of 10 her family moved to St. Louis where she was raised and graduated from Patrick Henry High School. She attended the Washington Tech School and became a nurse’s assistant working in Chicago and later Los Angeles California. They lived in Los Angeles from 1963 until 1977.
Helen and Charles T. Luper were united in marriage in 1951 and he passed away in 1977. They are the parents of five children who survive: Dell Vonard Edwards of Stockton, CA, Tymonika Banner of Engelwood, CA, Neosha Reotha Johnson of West Hollywood, CA, Navorna Donita Luper of Elgin, Sajuan (Jerome) Luper of Springfield, IL, 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Helen is also survived by sister Lovie Poole of Aurora, IL, Leroy (Marguerite) Edwards of Albuquerque, NM, Nathaniel Edwards of St. Louis, MO, and Walter Edwards of St. Louis.
Helen is a member of the Greenville Kingdom Hall.
