Allen Wessell, age 59, of Coffeen, passed away Thursday, June 11, in Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. Funeral services for 59 year-old Allen Wessell will be Tuesday, June 16, at 11:00 a.m., in the Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery in rural Coffeen. Friends may call Monday, June 15, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to his family.
Allen was born to the late Arthur C. and Shiloh I. (Yoho) Wessell, Jr. on December 24, 1955 at Frankfort Indiana. Service to his country was with the U.S. Army in the 42nd Maintenance Co., USAREUR, as a tow truck operator in Germany. He then worked as a truck driver and most recently as a security guard at the Coffeen Power Station. He enjoyed telling jokes.
His marriage to Linda Alexander took place in Taylor Springs, IL on October 5, 2013 and she survives in Coffeen. Also surviving are children, Ethan E. Wessell and Kendra Wessell, both of Coffeen, IL; brother, Robert Kyle (wife Vonna) Wessell, Coffeen, IL and sister, Patricia Ann (Wessell) Petcher, Donnellson, IL. Preceding in death was a brother, Kammy D. Wessell in 1982.
