Bobby Gene Rose, age 85, of Greenville, passed away Monday, June 29 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Highland. Graveside funeral services for 85 year old Bobby Gene Rose will be Thursday, July 2 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Auburn Cemetery. The Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville is in charge of arrangements.
Bobby, the son of Claude Henry Rose and Stella (Morris) Rose, was born November 16, 1929 in Healdton, Oklahoma. He grew up in Bond County, attended local schools and moved in 1939 with his family to Altamont, Illinois. He later moved back to the area and farmed for the Harwood family by Donnellson, Illinois. Bobby worked for a dog food factory in East St. Louis, Illinois and then worked at B Line, retiring in 1991.
He is survived by his siblings: Johnny Rose of New Mexico, Louise Wirtz of Greenville, Sue Bone and husband Frank of Greenville and Barb Wiese and husband Sonny of Greenville.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, brother Kirby Rose and a sister Dorothy Faye Willeford.
