Helen Beatrice “Bea” Marshall, age 91 of Carlyle, passed away Sunday, July 28 in New Athens. Funeral services for 91 year old Helen Beatrice “Bea” Marshall will be Wednesday, July 1 at 10:00 a.m. at Zieren Funeral Home in Carlyle. Burial will be in Mt. Carbon Cemetery near Murphysboro. Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the family.
She was born in Barnhill Township, Illinois on April 27, 1924, a daughter of Homer and Alice (Stevens) Davis. She married Leroy “Red” Marshall on Aug. 15, 1940 in Jackson, Missouri, and he preceded in death.
Mrs. Marshall is survived by 3 sons, Houston “Gene” Marshall and Edward Marshall of Carlyle, and William “Eldon” Marshall, of New Athens; 17 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; a sister, Rosie Wiebler of Carlyle; 2 half sisters, Jessie Kunkle, and Linda Cooley; and a half brother, George Kunkle. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cleo Davis; 3 sons, James Marshall, David Marshall and Kenneth Marshall, and 2 in infancy; and a sister, Wanda Kunkle.\
Mrs. Marshall was a home maker, and a member of the Baptist Church.
