Mark Thole


Mark Thole, age 55, of Carlyle, passed away Thursday, June 25 at his residence. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial for 55 year old Mark Thole will be Monday, June 29 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Carlyle. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. at Zieren Funeral Home in Carlyle. Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Mark was born on September 14, 1959, in Breese, Illinois, a son of Alfred and Victoria (Wolters) Thole. He married Mary Ann Schulte on November 14, 1987, in Aviston and she survives in Carlyle.

In addition to his wife Mary Ann, Mr. Thole is also survived by 4 children – Kurt Thole and fiancé Caitlin Schnitker of Hoyleton; Jason Thole, Melissa Thole, and Amy Thole, all of Carlyle; his mother – Victoria Thole of Carlyle; his brothers and sisters – Geralyn Hodapp and husband Bernard of Carlyle, Ruth Lange and husband Herb of Addieville, Lucy Deiters and husband Ron of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, Victoria Buss and husband Marvin of Oakdale, Teresa Graham and husband Ken of Indianapolis, Indiana, Judy Tebbe and husband Andy of St. Rose, Doris Lintker and husband Wayne of Venedy, Lori Thole of Indiana, Philip Thole and wife Kathy of Greenville, James Thole and wife Phyllis of Tennessee, Luke Thole and wife Angela of Greenville, Linus Thole of Breese, Paul Thole and wife Shawna of Highland, and Dean Thole and wife Alexandria of Smithboro; his brothers and sisters-in-law – Rita Strubhart and wife Allen of Aviston, Art Schulte, Jr. and wife Diane of Caseyville, Margie Albers and husband Roger of Germantown, and Henrietta Schulte of Germantown; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father – Alfred Thole; a brother – Vernon Thole; his mother and father-in-law – Arthur, Sr. and Therese Schulte; and 2 brothers-in-law – Paul and Joe Schulte.

Mark was a member of St. Mary’s Church and was a grain farmer.
