She was the devoted wife of Ward Borror, who passed away in 1994, and with whom she shared 45 years of marriage. A lifelong resident of Greenville, Rosie was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Helen (Justi) Taylor, and graduated from Greenville High School in 1946. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church all her life and was its organist when she was in her early twenties. After Rosie and Ward married in 1949, she continued to work at the telephone company for a few years. She often shared fun stories of her friends there. She stayed home to raise their three children, Bruce, Barb, and Sandra, then worked at the Greenville High School as secretary from about 1974 to 1993. She is fondly remembered for her warm smile and always being ready and willing to help students and teachers alike. An avid reader, she also served on the Greenville Public Library Board in the 1990’s. Rosie enjoyed playing bridge with friends and, along with Ward, enjoyed the close friendships of their “couple’s bridge club” that had continued going to dinner together monthly since the early 1960’s. Rosie and Ward enjoyed going out dancing regularly, and she has dearly missed the love of her life since he has been gone. Surely, they are dancing together again now.
Rosie is survived by three children: Bruce Borror of Collinsville, IL, Barbara Smith (and husband Bruce) of Greenville, IL, and Sandra Borror (and husband David Baldt) of Kennett Square, PA. Her five grandchildren are Carrie Smith, Bradley Smith, Whitney Utlaut, Jacob Jury, and Alison Jury.
Rosie is predeceased by her only brother, Norman Taylor, and husband, Ward Borror.
