Vera Golder, age 63, of Keyesport, passed away Friday, June 5, at the Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis. A Mass of Christian burial for 63 year-old Vera Golder will be Tuesday, June 9, at 10:00 a.m., in St. Theresa’s Church in Marydale. Burial will be in McKendree Chapel Cemetery west of Keyesport. Friends may call Monday, June 8, from 4:00 – 8P:00 p.m. and Tuesday, from 8:00 – 9:30 a.m., at the Zieren Funeral Home in Carlyle. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Mrs. Golder was born on March 27, 1952, in Breese, Illinois, a daughter of Raymond and Leonilda (Kampwerth) Diekemper. She married Jim Golder on February 16, 1973, in Carlyle, and he survives in Keyesport.
In addition to her husband Jim, Vera is also survived by her children – Jim Golder and wife Christy of Keyesport, and Stacy Mickelson and husband Wade of Highland; her grandchildren – Miley and Macey Golder and Hailey Kohlbrecher; her father – Raymond Diekemper of Carlyle; her mother-in-law – Edna Golder of Keyesport; her brothers and sisters — Maurice Diekemper and wife Donna of Trenton, Raymond Diekemper and wife Marilyn of Carlyle, Leon Diekemper and wife Kim of Shattuc, Philip Diekemper and wife Kelly of Carlyle, Gerhard Diekemper and wife Janice of Carlyle, and Debbie Johnson and husband Brad of Beckemeyer; a sister-in-law – Paula Zobrist and husband Lynn; a brother-in-law – Rick Simmonds; and many nieces and nephews.
Going before her to heaven are her mother – Leonilda Diekemper; her father-in-law – Paul Golder; and a sister-in-law – Kathy Simmonds.
Mrs. Golder worked at Arrow Storage Products in Breese since 1987. She was a member of St. Theresa’s Church in Marydale. She enjoyed traveling, winery tours, deer hunting, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren and family.
