Carole Follis, age 71, of Mulberry Grove, passed away Wednesday, July 15 in her home. A celebration of life for 71 year old Carole Follis will be Monday, July 20 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Mulberry Grove. Memorials are suggested to the family.
Carole Jean Fensterman, the daughter of John “Jack” Henry Fensterman and Wilda “Shorty” Jean McKeal Fensterman, was born on March 2, 1944 in Granite City, Illinois. Carole grew up in Poag near Edwardsville and graduated from Edwardsville High School. Carole worked as a waitress and health care provider in the St. Petersburg, Florida area for over 25 years. Carole has worked for Addis Health Care in Mt.Vernon, Illinois caring for the elderly for the past 10 years. She was an avid Bass Fisherman and enjoyed her flowers and her garden.
Carole and Robert Homer Follis were united in marriage on June 17, 1999 in the Bond County Court House by Judge John Knight, and have enjoyed the past 16 years together. Robert survives as does Carole’s brother John Richard (Donna) Fensterman of Walshville, a sister Jacqueline Marie Arrington, 6 nieces and 3 nephews. Carole is also survived by Robert’s children: Robin (Lana) Follis of Nashville, Ronald (Christy) Follis of Troy, MO, Robert (Denise) Follis of St. Charles, MO, Roger Follis of Woodriver, Ross Follis of Belleville, Randall (Ivy) Follis of Granite City, Dawn (David) Panhorst of Belleville, 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Carole is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Stephen Michael Fensterman.
After the celebration of life, the family will be together at the Mulberry Grove Community Center on Maple Street in Mulberry Grove for a time of food and fellowship, and welcome friends to join them there.
