Daniel M. Feldmann

Daniel M. Feldmann, age 54, of Carlyle, passed away Tuesday, August 4 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese. A Mass of Christian Burial for 54 year old Daniel M. Feldmann will be Saturday, August 8 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Carlyle. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Carlyle. Friends may call Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. at Zieren Funeral Home in Carlyle. The Knights of Columbus will pray the rosary Friday at St. Mary’s Church at 7:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Mary’s Church or to Mater Dei High School.

Mr. Feldmann was born on March 1, 1961, in Breese, Illinois, a son of Mark L. and Leona M. (Kunkel) Feldmann. He married Kimberly Cooper on May 7, 1988, and she survives.

In addition to his wife Kim, Dan is also survived by his children – Matthew Feldmann of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Amanda Feldmann of Carlyle; 3 sisters – Dr. Marilyn Feldmann of Cullowhee, North Carolina, Joyce Conner and husband Mike of Centralia, and Janet Radcliff and husband Cary of Belleville; a brother – Dr. Ronald Feldmann and wife Roseann of Sycamore; 3 brothers-in-law – Gary Cooper of O’Fallon, Larry Cooper of Debary, Florida and Don Cooper and wife Chris of Edwardsville; a sister-in-law – Joann Presnell of Effingham and many nieces and nephews. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Feldmann was a Resource Conservationist for Bond County Soil and Water Conservation District. He also worked part time for Mater Dei High School driving bus to sporting events and the daily routes, and also drove for Boeckman Milk Hauling in Breese. He started working at Voss Farms when he was young and worked there, and other area farms, for many years. Dan enjoyed a great card game of Pinochle and spending time with his children and family. He was involved in his children’s sports, band, school, and scouting events, and was a proud Eagle Scout Dad. Daniel was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Carlyle Council 1382 and also a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary’s Church in Carlyle.
