Gertrude M. “Trudy” Conrad, age 91, of Highland, passed away Friday, July 31 at Faith Care Center in Highland. A Mass of Christian Burial for 91 year old Gertrude M. “Trudy” Conrad will be Tuesday, August 4 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland. Burial will be in Highland City Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to service time at the church. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul Church or St. Louis College of Pharmacy. The Meridith Funeral Home in Highland is in charge of arrangements.
Trudy was born October 7, 1923, to Benjamin and Anna (Nee Budde) Rose, in Alton, IL. On December 10, 1949, she married Walter Conrad in Alton, IL.
Trudy was a longtime member of St. Bernards Catholic Church, Wood River, IL before moving to Highland. Her family was the most important thing to her. She worked hard and wanted to instill good work ethic in her family. She loved to play cards and spend time with her family and friends. She enjoyed travelling, swimming and water aerobics.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Anna Rose; husband, Walter Conrad, April 2, 2011.
Trudy is survived by her daughter, Julie (Dale) Netemeyer, R. Ph., Highland, IL; granddaughter, Brianna Netemeyer; cousins.
