Kenneth Eugene McCain, age 83, of St. Peters, Missouri, formerly of Vandalia, passed away Monday, August 24, at his home. Memorial services for 83 year-old Kenneth Eugene McCain will be Saturday, August 29, at 2:00 p.m., in Young Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Bond County Humane Society.
Kenneth was born June 1, 1932 in Ramsey, IL. He married Beverly Jean Stewart on May 28, 1955 in Mulberry Grove, IL. He is survived by his wife Beverly, his daughters Teresa (Tim) Godwin and Patricia Gayl (Joe) Pomath of Florissant, MO. He is also survived by two brothers Donald (Janet) McCain of Vandalia, IL and Morris (Marjorie) McCain of Decatur, IL along with three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Floyd McCain and three sisters Dorris Enke, Dorothy Main, and Evelyn Bricker.
He grew up in Vandalia and graduated from Vandalia High School. He later graduated from SIU-E with a bachelor’s degree. He had lived in Collinsville, IL, Bridgeton, MO. and lastly had lived in St. Peters, MO. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1952 to 1955. He retired from McDonnell Douglas as a senior cost estimator after 36 years.
