Lawrence Ramach, age 95, of Glen Carbon, passed away Saturday, August 15 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. Private graveside services for 95 year old Lawrence Ramach will be Saturday, August 22 at Salem Cemetery in Alhambra. Friends may call Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Dauderman Mortuary in Alhambra. Memorials are suggested to Salem United Church of Christ or Eden Village Assisted Living Center.
He was born August 26, 1919, in Staunton, IL, the son of Nick and Annie (Jurosh) Ramach.
On November 18, 1943, he married Hilda M. Diesselhorst who passed away April 9, 2015.
Lawrence was born at Staunton, IL. He was the last surviving of his four brother and three sisters. He served in the U. S. Army as a Technical Sergeant and was stationed in Central Europe during World War II. He worked for Granite City Steel, retiring in the early 1970’s. During his retirement he enjoyed travel throughout the U.S., to visit his children and grandchildren and occasional trips to the casino. Lawrence was very proud of his long loving marriage of 71 years with his beloved Hilda, who passed away on April 9, 2015.
