Margaret M. Parent, age 62, of Swansea, formerly of Breese, passed away Wednesday, August 12 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial for 62 year old Margaret M. Parent will be Monday, August 17 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
She was born August 20, 1952 in Breese, a daughter of the late Robert and Pauline, nee Venhaus, Voss.
Mrs. Parent was the Branch Manager at First National Bank in Waterloo and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fairview Heights. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Amy Mooney and husband Chad and Ryan Parent and wife Mindy all of Swansea; 5 grandchildren, Cole, Brock, and Madeline Mooney, Jackson and Cameron Parent; her siblings, Jim Voss and wife Betty of Highland and Marilyn Sudholt and husband Bob of Aviston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Leon Parent, whom she married September 23, 1972 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston, and he died November 28, 2002; and her brother, Donald Voss.
