Mildred M. Ennen, age 93, of Keyesport, passed away at 2:44 a.m.Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Greenville Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville with Darryl Bolen officiating. Interment will follow in German Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Donnell-Wiegand From 10 a.m. Saturday until service time. For those who desire memorials may be made to the Tamalco Christian Church, German Cemetery, or the Greenville First Christian Church.
Mildred Marie Hensley, the daughter of Dewey Hensley and Mary DeEtta Duckworth Hensley, was born on August 20, 1922 on the Hensley farm in Tamalco Township, Bond County, Illinois. Mildred grew up there and attended the Tamalco School, Keyesport School and graduated from Carlyle High School in 1940. Mildred worked for Tony’s cafe in Greenville and the Thomas House. Mildred also taught at Palmer School and later worked at Utlaut Memorial Hospital for over 11 years.
Mildred and John H. Ennen were united in marriage on August 14, 1942 at the Presbyterian Church in Sandusky, Ohio, and enjoyed over 60 years together before John’s death on February 17, 2003. They are the parents of three children who survive: Lloyd (Lillie) Ennen of Stonefort, IL, Judy (Gary) Dollinger of Greenville, Larry (Cindy) Ennen of south of Greenville, one sister Lucille Wade of Sun City West, AZ, 6 grandchildren:Tammy Freisland, James (Lami) Ennen, Carrie Ennen, Stephen (Laurel) Dollinger, Lance (Amy) Ennen, Troy Ennen, 12 great-grandchildren including Christopher, Matthew, Jacob, Justin, Joshua, Stephanie, Jennifer, Carries 4, Mikal, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Mildred is also survived by her two sisters in law Oneta Hensley and June Hensley.
Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, three grandchildren: Kevin Ennen, Tracy Enen, Tyler Ennen, and 3 brothers: Carl Hensley, Paul Hensley, and David Hensley.
Mildred was an active member as long as she was able in the Keyesport Senior Citizen’s, The Bond County Farm Bureau, and her church, the Tamalco Christian Church.
