Murl Eldon Greenwood, age 101, of Coffeen, passed away Monday, August 3 at Montgomery Nursing & Rehab Center in Taylor Springs. Funeral services for 101 year old Murl Eldon Greenwood will be Saturday, August 8 at 2:00 p.m. at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen. Burial will be in Green hill Cemetery in Van Burensburg. Friends may call Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist church in Coffeen or Green Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Greenwood was born on June 8, 1914, to the late Louis and Anna (Becker) Greenwood. He married Beulah Imogene Miller on October 31, 1942 at the Lutheran Parsonage in Hillsboro, IL. She preceded him on December 24, 2012. He lived his entire life in Coffeen, IL and was a farmer all his life. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Coffeen, IL and Montgomery County Farm Bureau.
Mr. Greenwood is survived by two daughters, Sylvia (husband Lance) Dutton, Belton, TX and Denise (husband Robert) Warnock, Hiawatha, IA; five grandchildren, Nathan and Penny Dutton and Daniel, Jonathan and Lisa Warnock.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
