Terry Dean Dietzel

Terry Dean Dietzel, age 57, of Breese, passed away Sunday, August 9 at his home. Family and friends will gather to remember 57 year old Terry Dean Dietzel Saturday, August 15 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at V&H Recreation in Breese. Memorials are suggested to the V&H Recreation Jr. Bowling League in Breese. Zieren Funeral Home in Carlyle is in charge of arrangements.

Terry was born on March 10th, 1958, in Columbus, Ohio, to Mary Louise (Dietzel) Graham and the late William Wallace Dietzel.

He served in the United States Army and The National Guard and received an honorable discharge on December 1st, 1978.

Terry owned his own floor covering company, Dietzel’s Floor Covering of Illinois, before retiring the company to buy V&H Recreation in Breese on September 1st, 1999. Although V&H was sold in 2010, he retained employment with them as the general manager until 2013. He loved to make people laugh and his smile was infectious. “Every day’s a party.”

Terry is survived by his children – Jesse Dietzel (special friend Victoria Guetterman) of Breese and January Loddeke (Curt) of Germantown, his wife – Virginia Dietzel of Breese, and his step-children – Adam (Heather) Pate of Breese, Josh (Allison) Pate of Breese and Kristy Heggemeier of Breese. He was a grandfather to Alexandra, Hayli, Emily, Page, William, Addrienne, Kali, Lucas and Ryder and anticipated the arrival of another grandchild in January 2016.

He’s also survived by his mother – Mary Graham of Laurelville, Ohio; 4 sisters – Sherry, Joy, Mona and Hope all of Ohio and a brother – Randy, of Indiana.

He is proceeded in death by his father, William Wallace Dietzel, a sister – Faith, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
