Lucille Hintz Huffman

Lucille Hintz Huffman, age 96 of Boulder, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Mrs. Huffman was born on April 12, 1919 in Boulder, IL, a daughter of George and Maude (Bowen) Hintz. She married Thomas N. Huffman on December 19, 1939 in St. Louis.

Lucille Huffman lived most of her life in the Boulder area, and she and her husband were farmers until retirement in 1981. She was a life-long member of the Boulder United Methodist Church, which she attended regularly and held many offices. Lucille was a member of the Ladies’ Aide, and a charter member of Clinton County Homemakers Extension. She enjoyed her family, friends, and traveling many places in the United States, China, Europe, and Hawaii.

Mrs. Huffman is survived by a daughter, Marjorie Ellis of O’Fallon, Mo; a son, Stanley Huffman and wife Joan of Flora, IL; five grand daughters- Kristin Hussey and husband Tom of Lake St. Louis, Maura Huffman of Flora, IL, Kara Sutton and husband Scott of St. Charles, Mo, Taura King of Cleveland, Ohio, and Nicole Huffman of Flora, IL. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren- Megan Cox, Taylor King, Brooks and Morgan Lane, Tristan Huffman, Kayla and Jacob Hussey, and Sydney and Alexander Sutton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Huffman on March 13, 2002; a daughter Bobbie Lou Huffman on April 29, 1962; her parents; three brothers, Carl Hintz, Charles Hintz and Robert Hintz, and three sisters, Thelma Davidson, Verma Kozelenko, and Margaret Hopkins; a son-in-law, Frank Ellis; and a great Granddaughter, Kimberly Ann Hussey.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, Sept. 16 at Zieren Funeral Home in Carlyle, with Rev. Richard Achley officiating. Interment will follow in Pritchet Cemetery in Boulder.

The family will greet friends at Zieren Funeral Home in Carlyle on Tuesday, Sept. 15, from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday morning from 8:00 – 9:30 A.M.

Donations in memory of Mrs. Huffman are suggested to the Boulder United Methodist Church will be received at Zieren Funeral Home, or can be mailed to the church at 2595 South Pine St., Centralia, IL 62801.
