She was born Doris Elaine Greer to Marvin L. & Myrtle Kastning Greer at home in Shafter Township on June 10, 1930, one of seven children.
She married Paul Bunyard on November 29, 1947. They first lived in Vandalia, briefly, before moving to Hagerstown where they began their family with the birth of two sons. In 1953, they moved to Greenville where they have since resided on what became their family farm. Here their family grew with the addition of four daughters. Elaine was a devoted and loving wife, mother & grandmother.
She loved music her entire life mastering the piano as a young girl and later the violin. She loved to sing and passed on her love of music to her four daughters. She was adventurous, always eager to travel and at age 50 learned how to downhill ski. After raising her children, she returned to school and became a certified nursing assistant and later completed training to become a massage therapist. Above all, she loved spending time with family and friends. Her generous spirit knew no bounds as she reached out to all with a quick smile, warm embrace or a hot meal.
