Hazel E. Voigt, age 97 of Marine, IL, died Saturday, October 10, 2015, at Faith Care Center-Highland, IL.
She was born on Monday, December 31, 1917, in Warsaw, IL, the daughter of Edgar and Mabel (nee Neudecker) Stuckwisch.
On Wednesday, November 11, 1942, she married Robert A. “Piker” Voigt who passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2000.
She was a member of Saint Jacob United Church of Christ, St. Jacob, IL, Order of Eastern Star, Unity Chapter #608 – Marine, IL (Past Matron).
Hazel was born and raised at Warsaw, IL. She graduated from Warsaw High School. She moved to Highland after high school and worked for her aunt at Westside Cafe in Highland. She later helped the new owner run the cafe and also made pies. She and the owner became good friends. Hazel met Robert at the cafe. After marriage they lived on the farm. She helped her husband with the farm and raised their family. She was a great cook and caring grandmother.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, with Rev. Philip H. Kershner, Pastor, United Church of Christ of Marine, Marine, IL, officiating.
Interment will be at Marine Cemetery in Marine, IL.
