David D. Heidbrink

David Heidbrink, age 83, of Hamel, passed away Tuesday, November 3 at Staunton Community Hospital. Funeral services for 83 year old David D. Heidbrink will be Friday, November 6 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hamel. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to service time at the church. Memorials are suggested to the St. Paul Lutheran Church or the Hamel Fire Department. The Dauderman Mortuary in Hamel is in charge of arrangements.

He was born June 21, 1932, in Staunton, IL, the son of Walter and Frieda (nee Liesemeyer) Heidbrink.

On June 14, 1959, he married Dicksie Carol Kessman who survives.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was also a Former Trustee of the Hamel Fire Department & EMT.

Mr. Heidbrink was born in Staunton, IL and graduated from Staunton High School in 1950. He joined the US Navy serving in the Korean War. He attended Gradwohl Medical Technician School in St. Louis for two years and moved to Hamel in 1965. He owned and operated Kessman Tank Service in Hamel and then became part-owner in Ernst Heating and Cooling in Hamel. He later worked at K-Mart in Edwardsville. He enjoyed fishing, cross word puzzles, playing solitaire, and watching old movies.
