Roy E. Meyer

Roy E. Meyer, age 87 of Pocahontas, IL, died Saturday, December 12, 2015, at Alhambra Care Center in Alhambra, IL.

He was born on Friday, August 17, 1928, in Nashville, IL, the son of Christ and Emma (nee Borderwisch) Meyer.

On Sunday, April 25, 1954, he married June C. Meyer nee Mewes who survives.

He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Jamestown, IL; Church Men’s Brotherhood; former member-Mid Western Teamsters.

Roy was born at home in Washington County, IL; at age 2 he moved to the Stolletown area of Clinton County, IL. He had lived in Mascoutah; Trenton; north of Campground Church Road in Bond County; and south of Pocahontas as of October 1987. He worked for Greenville Service Company (FS) from 1965 to 1985. He loved his grandchildren; the outdoors; gardeing; repairing and fixing things. He enjoyed Country & Gospel music and visiting with friends He liked to paint things, always red, white and yellow.

Great Grandchild – Lukas J. Simmonds, Greenville, IL
Sister – Viola Brinkmann, Carlyle, IL

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at Saint Paul United Church of Christ in Jamestown, IL.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at Saint Paul United Church of Christ in Jamestown, IL., with Pastor Don W. Propeck, pastor, officiating.

Interment will be at Jamestown Cemetery in Jamestown, IL.
