Debra Kay Covalesky, age 57 of Greenville, passed away at her home on Tuesday, February 23, 2016.
A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Second Chance Animal Rescue or the Metro-East Humane Society.
Debra Kay, the daughter of Howard and Jean Phillips Brandt, was born February 15, 1959 in Columbia, Illinois. She grew up in Columbia, attended the local schools and graduated with the class of 1977 from Columbia Highschool. Debra worked for Wal-Mart and then Hallmark in Collinsville for several years.
Debra and Chris Alan Covalesky were united in marriage on July 17, 1997. Surviving is her husband and their children: Heather Wilhelm of St. Louis, MO, Bethany Wilhelm-Atkins and husband Greg of Murray, KY, Cody Covalesky of Greenville, IL, Caitlin Covalesky of Greenville, IL, step-son Cory Covalesky of Granite City, IL and step-daughter Courtney Covalesky of St. Louis, MO.
Debra and Chris moved to Greenville in 2006. She has worked for Countryside Pet Clinic here and Vandalia. She volunteered for Second Chance Animal Rescue in Fayette County.
